Indexes for Various Modern Topics

The indexes in this section aim to create a keyword map of modernism by providing the major concepts and contextual frames that scholars have commonly called upon to discuss modernism and early twentieth-century culture. We are currently developing five indexes in the following areas:

• Social & historical topics
• Cultural & literary topics
• Notable art movements & cultural groups
• Notable cultural events
• Key terms and values from modern art and literature

Each index—built from our review of multiple published surveys of modernism—will provide users with clusters of keyterms they can use to discover how different aspects of modernism intersect with the MJP database.
